Walking for Health

West Norwood Health and Leisure Centre

A free lunchtime walk with a focus on health and wellbeing, run under the national project ‘Walking for Health’ by West Norwood Health and Leisure Centre, lead by specially trained volunteers starting at the West Norwood Health and Leisure Centre.

All fitness levels welcome, no need to reserve, just turn up wearing comfortable shoes.

Every Wednesday lunchtime a free local walk runs from the West Norwood Health & Leisure Centre, as part of England’s largest network of health walk scheme – helping people across the country lead a more active lifestyle.

Our group walks are led by friendly, specially trained volunteers who are on hand to provide encouragement and support, and make sure no one gets left behind. Our walks are short and over easy terrain and are open to everyone but are especially aimed at those who are least active.

The walk takes in a route around the leafy West Norwood cemetery and includes a visit and brief talk about a different person buried in the cemetery each time, often with relevance to current events.

A great way to spend your lunchtime – culture and fitness – all rolled into one!
